Good News from Fruitful Africa

It was on tour in 2008 on an Arik Air flight to Benin fromLagos, Nigeria, that I saw a vision. This was the first tour of theHarvester Blues Band including Apostle Andre and myself, the Collins BrothersDale and Leigh, Greg “Ching” Smith, and bass man Jean-Pierre Joubert. At thatstage it was hard for people to understand the maths of missions. It felt likewe were sowing and sowing, going and going and the ground was hard. ApostleAndre said that he initially did not think he would go into Africa, but rather to the English speaking nations of the world. Today there are already two French Churchesrelating to Harvester in Côte d’Ivoire and there are 45 more French speaking nationsto reach. With the recent connections in Uganda with Pastor Richard Sisendi andother brothers in Liberia busy adopting the Harvester Constitution, it seemsclear that those early seeds sown in obscurity are producing tremendous fruit.

The vision was of a huge tree the shape of the continent,with roots in the South, a strong supporting stem in the middle and brightjuicy fruit further up encouraged us to continue with the expensive long termstrategy of reaching Africa, to reform the Church in order to reform the land.

Well done Apostle Andre Pelser, who has acted as “Dr.Livingstone I presume?” in a Rolux Magnum advert (A lawn mower company – “cuttinga pathway through Africa”) in early 80’s and is following in Livingstone’sfootsteps from Cape To Cairo. Painting, Prophecy and a Jacuzzi

There is a beautiful little valley tucked away behind Stellenbosch called Jonkershoekvallei. Most tourists stop at Lanzerac Wine Estate, but five minutes down the road is the site of our MBC camp this year, "Die Eiland" or "The Island" so named because of the fork in the river cutting out the area of the camp. This year we have a full time group of students compromising mostly "Africans and an American" as Apostle Leigh put it. So when we arrived in this picturesque Eden, with water jets flowing over time rounded rocks it took no time for our students to discover the natural "Jacuzzi"! On Sunday at Church we had to explain what the students meant after their testimony about the wonderful MBC Camp: God providing delicious food, a soccer field and the time they spent in the "Jacuzzi." The river is of course a shallow and cool mountain river fed by nearby fountains in the mountainous surrounds, so you can position yourself on a large pebble and merely lie downstream as the water rushes over you.
By the way we also worked through the whole Foundation Course, explained vision and discussed the True Church, with Children's Church Workshops, Dance and Movement with apostle Leigh and Prophet Lynette, with a fantastic introduction to Worship by Prophet Nola, and a foundation lesson on Faith by Apostle Andre Pelser fresh from a visit to Harvester Uganda.

And I completed an oil painting "en plein air" a French expression meaning "in the open air". The impressionists painted outdoors to get the best light that danced its way into the vibrant colours on their canvasses. it got me thinking about God's brush strokes in our lives especially with regards to prophecy. We often want artists to take a photo with their paint brush, but then we eliminate the artist's impression and the creative mark. Every painting needs a support, a canvas needs wooden stretchers and needs to be nailed, or stapled to it. Our Canvas lives are stapled to the cross. The easel supports the canvas, we all need the support of a local church. The canvas needs to be primed and the surface should be rough enough to hold the paint. if our lives are too smooth, the brush strokes of the Master won't stick. Like the process of painting brush stroke by stroke and slowly building up an image, so we learn line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little - and we all prophesy in part. When we all do our share our collective artworks are completed and God can exhibit us, or keep us for His private use. MBC Mbekweni - young lions graduate

I was with Apostle Andre in the late 90's when he planted the Church in Wellington. The local pastor we sent there to carry on with the work basically stole the church for himself and never restored relationship with home base. But I heard these words once when driving to Mbekweni - a district of Wellington: "Doubly Fruitful".

It is here where Pastor Mqokilele "Actor" Mtanga and Pastor Malibongwe Gibisela have started two very interesting works, both relating to Harvester International Ministries.

While Pastor Mtanga is running the local Community Centre and holding Church meetings there on Sundays, Pastor Malibongwe has reached out to the youth of the local school. There are former tik (drug) addicts and also top students that have dedicated their lives to the Lord and more impressively, studied the Word formerly utilizing the Miracle Bible College Curriculum. I was very honoured to speak at their Graduation where the average member of the church is under 20! One could hear from their testimonies that they had apostolic frequency and were ready to turn the world upside down. With a little training and wisdom, this could very well happen!

Below are the graduates from 2011 who completed the weekly MBC course, we handed them their certificates and the joy in their faces was unforgettable. I have dubbed them the young lions with their fiery pastor who has faced tremendous odds yet still roars out for Jesus in an area where witchcraft and false doctrines are prominent. Keep roaring guys! The Lion of the tribe of Judah is with you!

The Lord prompted me to give the Top Student Nosipho Sithembile a Bursary for full time studies at MBC in 2015 - that's the year after she finishes school!

Now we can raise the R20 000 it costs to put someone through MBC and send them on their mission for Christ. Tonight we are graduating the rest of the students world wide who have completed their studies for 2011. Congratulations to all of you who have studied the Word to show yourself approved of God, thoroughly equipped for every good work!.

Take courage from former MBC student Pastor Malibongwe (1998-1999) who now rents a church venue for R150 a month and graduates students annually, the picture below is where they are having a campaign next week! Well done brother!

I was going through my 2009 prayers and thanksgiving listthe other day and I saw that I had written that I was trusting God to beinvolved in another MBC production! Being involved in this production hasreally been a dream come true for me. I really enjoyed being involved in dramaproductions while I was at MBC 8 years ago. I thought that it was over when Igraduated. I can now say that it is definitely not over and I am SO grateful tobe able to be apart of this production. God amazes me more and more as Icontinue to serve Him. It just shows you, nothing is impossible for God. He sowonderfully grants us the desires of our hearts:)"

How amazing is it, that what actuallyhappens in the story line, I want to do i.e. going to Africa and record what Godis doing there! "It is no co-incidence that all three of the dancesI am involved in for the Good News production bear great significance in mylife. Firstly, I have lived with much sorrow for a number of years. Just a fewmonths before we started working on the Good News Production the Lord deliveredme from sorrow. One of the dances I do is about a little boy that is healedfrom terminal diseases and my role is to portray the joy of that healingthrough dancing, specifically in the style of ballet which I have been trainedin. What has made this such an awesome experience is that I do not have toinvoke feelings of joy to bring it across on a performance level, but I canjust do it because I feel a substance of joy within me! I understand the words of King David in Psalm30:11 on a whole new level: “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing.” Allthat mourning and sorrow that I walked around with for years has been replacedwith a larger capacity, ability and more incredibly a joy for dancing (eventhough it has been passion of mine since a young age)! Not only has the Lorddelivered me from sorrow but the fact that my body is able to cope with theamount of physical activity is also a testimony to the goodness of the Lord! Afew years ago I acquired back, hip and ankle bone injuries which had tremendousinfluence on my activities. However, over the past few years the Lord has healedme and I have recovered to such a state that those injuries are no longer afactor in my physical activities. Just a fortnight before the performance Ieven received the good news that my ankle had completely recovered from asplintered bone—what incredible timing of the Lord to give us His good news!Come, taste and see that the Lord is good!!!!"

Young & Old Turn to the Living God

Janine - a member of the Good News cast came up to me smiling: "My Grannie got saved!" This was in addition to others who made a decision to follow Jesus on Saturday Night. One little girl gave her heart to the Lord and prayed with me. Jesus is alive and well and healing the brokenhearted today. We can just praise God for a wonderful run and for confirming His Word with signs and wonders following. Rudie Faurie - who played a lead role in the play, the Camera Man for Stella the reporter - operated in the gifts of the Spirit and had a word of knowledge for someone with severe pains in the left side of the brain, an elderly lady came forward and he prayed for her, she started to shiver and experienced the power of God! We look forward to following up possible shows next year Lord willing, in Durbanville, Mannenberg and some High Schools in Cape Town where there are so many more souls to reach with the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Here are five reasons to turn to the LivingGod

1. It was preached to us

‘Turn from these vainthings (idols) to the living God who made heaven, the earth, the sea and allthings that are in them, who in ancient days allowed all nations to walk intheir own ways.’ (Acts 14:15)

2. God has spoken to us

But God has in these lastdays spoken to us by His Son (Jesus Christ) whom He has appointed heir of allthings through whom He also made the worlds, being the brightness of His gloryand the express image of His Person, upholding all things by the word of hispower, when He had by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand ofthe Majesty on high. (Hebrews 1:2, 3)

3. Christ redeemed us

He has delivered us fromthe power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of Hislove, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians1:13, 14)

4. He is the Image of God to us

He (Jesus Christ) is theimage of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Colossians 1:15)

5. God loves us

Jesus Christ is the Son ofthe Living God. (Matthew 16:16) For God so loved the world that He gave hisonly begotten Son (as our substitute) that whoever believes in Him should notperish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

TAKE THESE THREE STEPS TO TURN TO THELIVING GOD

1. Confess with your mouth thatJesus is Lord of your life and believe in your heart that God raised Him fromthe dead. (Romans 10:9, 10)

2. Repent of your sins and bebaptised (immersed) in water. (Acts 2:38)

3. Receive the gift of the HolySpirit (by faith). (Acts 2:38) The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into alltruth and show you things to come. (John 16:13)

Let Him Heal!

it is probably intimidating to admit that you have a broken heart during a live production in front of a theatre of strangers. What we have seen though, is that believers stand up and bring their friends forward for prayer. Throughout the Life of Christ there were people who weren't ashamed to cry out: "Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!" Anyone who has been saved and truly born again have made a public confession of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit helped us last night with words of knowledge to loosen up hte bonds that held people back from responding to God's love and the message in the show. One man with a lower spinal injury was ministered to and the anointing breaks the yoke.

Tears flowed from some and deep healing took place. Apostle Leigh and Pastor Derrick got involved and laid hands on people in Jesus name - the value of including spiritual leadership in the cast and crew of Good News. The inserted photo is from a scene entitled: "Mad Man" the true portrayal of a man that was healed from insanity in Africa, when Apostle Andre Pelser gave him a Bible and said: "God will use you!" Gift Matabese, a bursary student at Miracle Bible College, acted this out superbly, I am the drumming acting out the torment he experiences and his body moves with every rhythm I played.

Friday and Saturday night performances are sold out - praise God! There are still some people that have not seen it. We hope to release this production in different districts of Cape Town next year. 2 Souls and a Wedding!

When we performed Good News tonight, Cheyenne and Rudie acted out a salvation scene brilliantly. it was easy to step in and extend that invitation to the audience. When we have altar calls it is always a case of asking the question: "Will you make Jesus the Lord of your life today, and let Him heal your broken heart?" And then waiting to let the Holy Spirit do His work of conviction. one lady put up her hand and responded, came forward and then another friends bringing friends to Jesus - a beautiful sight - exactly why we produced Good News. When I spoke to the new convert afterwards, she introduced me to her fiance who recently gave his heart to the Lord at Church. his brimming smile said it all. They want to get married in January on a beach, and of course that would be a pleasure for us to organize! Some other souls followed suit. We also prayed for healing in some lives too. Praise God!
Well done to Morne and Adel Van Wyk for bringing their friends to the production, but not only that - to Jesus. Those friends in Christ are for life.
The cast and crew of Good News should realize how valuable their performances were tonight and understand that this is just the beginning of the massive impact this production will have on the lives of so many broken hearts around the world. Keep going team - it is awesome working with you!
Thanks to Yvette and Magdel who set up a beautiful display in the foyer that made all feel welcome in Church. To Eric Collins, man I really could not have realized the fulfillment of the visions without your practical solution for the lamps, and more! Thanks to all the harvesters from Milnerton who helped us set up and usher tonight - you have a share in every soul reached. Thank You Jesus that Your Good News continues!

Final Rehearsals

What a day!
Yesterday I was shouting out "You can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you!" to the cast and technical crew. Today I had to say it to myself - the two-edged sword effect of the Word is awesome. It fights for others and cuts you loose too!
Seeing the dancers do take after take tonight was inspirational to say the least. The technical crew had set things up so we could finally shoot the music video - 2 videos in fact, so watch this space for the Title track "Good News" and also the dance portraying the healing of the "Mad Man" from Africa, a true story that you can read about in our Reformer Newsletter. Well done to the team tonight, oops last night! A special moment for me was Cherie saying on her birthday "I could have gone on and on" she likes the African dance scene because it is quite challenging. But more importantly, she is using her God-given talent to help us spread Good News to her generation - glory to God for that!

We look forward to tonight with nervous excitement yet faith in the Word of God to accomplish that to which it is sent. our area pastors are distributing tickets all around Cape Town and I have heard of families sponsoring others to attend in order to reach them for Christ - well done Harvesters!

Good News Production

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!
What a year of Good News it has been! The mere fact that most of the scenes in this production are based on real miracles experienced in the ministry is testimony to the power of Jesus Christ.
Driving on our Roads in Cape Town I often get totally disgusted with the headlines on the lamp posts. But in true apostolic style, God's Spirit prompted me to write about Good News to raise a standard against the "filth and shame and stories that belong in the drain!" an excerpt from our title track "Good News."
There is more to life than the world's media proclaims, and this show aims to lift up the Name of Jesus - He will heal people's broken lives and the news will spread far and wide, just like it did in the early Church.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Apostle Andre and Nola Pelser who dedicated their artistic talents in Drama and Music to the Lord so many years ago and decided to lay down successful careers for the sake of the Gospel, going into missions to seek and save the lost. That's why Harvester Church Cape Town is able to provide such a great platform for Christian Performing Arts to share Christ with our generation in a language they can understand.
I also would like to thank the members of our Cast and Technical Crews for their dedication over the last 6 months and prophesy that God will reward them richly for their service and labour of love.
It is a great privilege to work with brothers and sisters in Christ that take their calling seriously and give every ounce of energy when performing.
We pray and believe that God will confirm the Word in the Show with signs and wonders following, so bring your friends that need Jesus to heal their broken hearts and enjoy an evening worth remembering.
