Apostles go first! it was a good opportunity to support Johan & Leonie the organizers of the Festival and reach a new region with the cause of missions. Carin and Doreen and the events team have done a beautiful job converting the clubhouse into an art gallery! We hope to have a similar Art Gallery and Resource Shop at the New Church in Burgundy Estate. The organizers of the festival are incidentally also the builders of our church! The Helderberg Festival saw people arriving in the afternoon sampling the coffee, drinks and food stalls with some interesting soft chairs that you need to try! We particularly liked the Hollandse poffertjies with Nutella dressing! Louise Louw has a good coffee shop with

Homage to the Huguenots

Image
The Latin inscription means: After Darkness their is light." MBC Class of 2017 paid homage to the French Huguenots yesterday. The historical trauma that the Protestant resistors endured for their faith is inspirational. The monument is worth a visit nestled at the foot of the picturesque Franschhoek mountains. The farms and early industry of the Cape Colony benefited greatly from the arrival of the French Huguenots and the vineyards in the Cape tell of their influence. But more significantly, the seed of faith sown in South Africa, particularly their protestant faith that protested against the Catholic errors of indulgences and other anti-Christ doctrine, is bearing much fruit today in our region. Cape Town is a gateway into Africa and although the city has become well known as a destination for pleasure and other things, we should redeem the spiritual value of a city that embraced the Christian Faith in the continent. From here we are sending missionaries all over the world,

Three Dimensional Impressions of Glory

Image
Namaqualand Visual Glory Series About the Artwork The third dimension of living is seeing beyond the natural and into the supernatural. When this is applied to fine art, there is an acceptance of the two dimensional plane to a degree, but the third dimension is introduced through the devices of perspective, stroke and impasto layers of colourful sculptural paint. When the artist reflects on God’s creation, he allows the scene to impress on him, the glory of the Creator’s intent the moment it was conceived. The explosion of colour and the rhythm of movement conveys life creating a visual dance that lures the viewer into a new dimension of living. One day you will be looking at an artwork by the artist and then, suddenly the light will be right and the angle of sight will be perfect, and the first impression of a landscape will “pop” to life. The juxtaposition of complimentary oranges and blues, yellows and purples will generate a third dimension of emotion transporting

Celebrate Life

Image
Sometimes it's good to celebrate life! That old Rabbi once spoke to my Dad and told him that when situations call for a decision - to choose life. Make the choice that will promote life. This has become a saying in our circles too and often when faced with challenges - we decide to pursue the choice that stimulates more of that life force that Jesus paid for on the cross. Today our venue where rent a space for Miracle Bible College told us that we could not use it because of a funeral. Our condolences to the families of the deceased. However, it is our end of term and the students have done incredibly well to complete their exams and assignments - many of them have made great sacrifices to be there, traversing continents and leaving loved ones to study the Word. So we chose life and went to celebrate at Primi at Canal Walk and had a round of awesome coffee and cakes. We returned their essays and papers with termly reports congratulating them on their efforts. In the photogra

There is no Cold!

"There is no cold, there is no fear, your past is over and God makes all things new today for you. You are God's beloved son in whom He is well pleased." These were my words to the baptism candidate in the photo. After teaching on the Foundation Course at Miracle Bible College's Annual Camp on the beach at Melkbosstrand, a young student decided to get baptized. He is someone that contacted me last year regarding MBC and found himself at a crossroads - he had to decide between studying law on bursary at a prominent local university, and coming to our Bible College from a different church. I explained to him how I had given up my bursary options at a well known University overseas and how God has found a way to instruct me through a global network of church friends, churches and organizations. GRACE - God's Riches At Christ's Expense has so much more to offer than the world. God made all things new for me, including the sport he asked me to offer up early on,
