Abundance for Every Good Work A good news message for your provision and abundant living in Christ. By Apostle Aje Pelser Trigger Verse Here is the key verse of Scripture that triggered my fresh understanding of abundance: 2Co 9:8 "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." The concept of abundance can be confusing. If you think in terms of abundance, that it has storehouses full of everything all the time, it will frustrate you when that is not the case. If you shift your understanding of abundance towards the enabling force of abundance to do every good work God has called you to do, then it is a liberating concept. Stop feeling guilty that you don’t have storehouses full of grain. Have you read the ‘Parable of the Rich Fool?’ Luk 12:13-21 Then one from the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." “But H...

A meditation on scriptures dealing with church mandates and indicators for spiritual success. By Apostle Aje Pelser Key Scripture in self-evaluation of ministry How many ministers reach a place of self-loathing at one point in ministry? It’s often not for a lack of effort and application, devotion and self-sacrifice. This bears the question: “When is a ministry a success?” Furthermore, what are your personal indicators for success? Isaiah 49:4, "Then I said, 'I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward is with the LORD, And my work with my God.' " Something my dad always pointed out: “Where is Jesus’ church that He planted?” If you think about it, Jesus’ closely knit discipleship group was his church. The preaching to the masses came and went. At his moment of crucifixion where were the crowds? John and his mother and his friend Mary were there. Where were his mighty men? What happened to his finances? Where ...
Once in a Blue Moon

Once in a Blue Moon When the moon is closest to the earth in orbit, it is called a perigee, and the moon therefore appears thirty percent larger than usual. The Christian calendar depends on the phases of the moon to determine Easter or the Paschal Moon, as well as the Lenten moon. In our unique South African context, load shedding coincided with the most wonderful view of our moon on the evening of the 31st of August. Our section of the city had a blackout and thus the moon became the best entertainment on a winter’s night. We went outside and gazed up. Apparently, Saturn was also very close to the moon, although you needed a telescope to see it. A clever astronomer who had the camera lenses and telescopic attachments, managed to snap a photo of the event. Why is it blue? The apparent blue tinge of the moon could be atmospheric effects of water vapour but could also reflect some of the terrace elements of titanium oxide and iron on the moon itself, being made up of similar ...

5 Lessons I learnt from an Artist to Navigate through Chaos

By Aje Pelser Marc Chagall lived through two world wars, survived persecution as a Jew, was exiled and experienced the Bolshevik revolution with his wife and daughter. While meditating on the visions I have seen of angels ministering to people in our church, I wondered how to visually capture the images. I was drawn to a book on Chagall. Studying art history has opened up the story behind the works, and revealed the context of the artist’s life. I learnt five things about navigating through chaos using your gifts and talents through a complex network of valuable connections. 1. He loved his wife and family. Perhaps his greatest early struggle was for recognition as an artist, to show his family and his in-laws that he could take care of his beloved Bella. He loved her dearly and she became the subject of his greatest works including his wedding gift: “The Birthday” where he portrays himself swooping through the air to kiss h...

Reasons to become a Producer

Become a Producer By Aje Pelser Here are several reasons why you need to be a producer – perhaps you already are! What defines a producer? Film and cinema comes to mind – that mystical figure behind the realisation of dreams and the person who finds the support and funding to make it all possible. But I have found that the real producers learn to use what they’ve got and don’t wait until everything is perfectly aligned. Time is a luxury for a producer. Time management is a power tool for a producer and it determines budget, human resources, production, launch dates and distribution strategies. Now that we’ve seen ourselves in Hollywood for a moment, let’s bring it back home and consider whether we are producers or consumers? To become a producer in life means that you have thought about the way you live and the circles you move in, and you have found that there are essential resources lacking in that environment that only you can provide. Perhaps there are others who can provide ...
Enduring the Trial of Your Faith

A trial is actually an extended test. There are ways to endure the current trial of your faith, whether in relationships, business or finance, health and mental wellness during the current pandemic. I found great encouragement in a small passage written by James, the brother of Jesus, where he highlights the work of patience, that renders one perfect and complete, lacking nothing - if you can allow the work of patience to complete its work, the trial starts to bare the right fruit in your life. We inherit our promises through faith and patience. For more about James, the apostle of the Jerusalem Church, you can contact me for the MBTC Course that takes you deeper into James' writing and principles. here is a link on a talk I did about the concept of "enduring trial of your faith." https://youtu.be/VNT5IGTqQsU
